Pair Of Beaded Crow Stirrup Drops

Crow beaded strirup drops. C. 1925. These applique beaded drops, probably once part of a beaded ensemble for a horse, were attached at the stirrup as an embellishment and to honor the horse. Constructed of red wool over brain-tanned hide, trimmed in dark blue wool, and beaded with glass seed beads including red white hearts and greasy yellow and cotton thread, these stirrup drops each measure 8.5 x 5. There is some moth damage to the red wool backing, and very minor damage to the edging on the front of one. These have been hanging around ni a trunk for years. Thanks for looking.
