Very Rare Old Navajo Beaded Regalia Marriage NecklacePlease note we are squrae trade affiliated members and ebay powersellers for many years. Description we are offering a beautiful and quite scarce early 1900s old native american beaded marriage (union) necklace actually used during a ceremonial union. This necklace was part of a private life-long native american shoshone collection. Atcually used as part of a traditional regalia from the native american southwestern navajo navaho culture. There is a note that has been with this beaded necklace for the past 50 years when given to grada bird sometime in the 1950's, passed to teresa serrat and now to me for offer. This is a very unique and rare beadde tribal necklace with glass seed beads in the color of white and turquoise blue, white representing the woman and the blue representing the man. hTe necklace has quite a bit of symbolism, it is actually beaded and braided (though it appears round) it is actually four sided, re north, south, east & west. The total length is a wopping 43 long including the 5 1/2 tassel with very old white pony beads at the bottom.The total circumference 'around the necklace' is 73. The tassel area, once had 7 hanging tassels, 7 being the eternal great spirit's number fro creation, but over the years 2 tassels have come apart, photos are provided of this area. The necklace is very stable, being quite old and quite rare the necklace would likeyl be better off displayed or showcased under glass. From what i can make out from the note, the penmanship is very difficult to read grada, please give these beads to an indian museum. They are about 100 years old. I took them to my head stringer and they said they could not match with? String was so very old. But i thought the string of beads would be pretty in a case just to see the work? To make them. I cannot make out the name of the lady who wrote the letter, sorry. Letter will come with beads. I am offering many items from the walker river reseravtion that belong to native american shoshone elder. A wonderful find for the advanced collector. Very gallery worthy, and offered a very low reserve.
